Love never fails. God first loved us (1 John 4:10).  He chose us because He loved us (Deuteronomy 7:7-8).  Love is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We now already know we should love all with agape love as described in 1 Corinthians chapter 13. Failure to do so is sin (James 4:17).
