Sacred Truth Friday: Obey From the Heart

Today's Devo But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Romans 6:17 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/rom.6.17.NKJV Obey sincerely from the heart. This is what God expects. If you have not obeyed the gospel then please obey before it's everlasting too late. The Gospel in a nutshell Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:1‭-‬4 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1co.15.1-4.KJV 1. Poet's Corner Thursday: From Saul to Paul

From Saul to Paul They laid their clothes at the feet of a Young man named Saul Who later became the apostle Paul Preaching the Gospel to all. Stuck in a sinful abode Then he was blinded on the Damascus road Of him, Jesus took hold Without sight, food, water For three days he prayed In the city of Damascus he stayed Until someone should show him the way Ananias to him came Saul would never be the same He would have a brand new name "Saul, why do you wait? It may then be too late. Don't let hell be your fate. Arise! Be baptized! Have salvation realized And reach for the Heavenly prize." Saul washed his sins away Salvation he did not delay Jesus he would never betray He defended the way From the Lord he didn't stray He was faithful from day to day From Saul to Paul He exhorted others to obey the gospel call He gave Jesus his all

Gospel Wednesday: Ephesians Chapter 4: Spiritual Maturity

Ephesians Chapter 4 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipp

Gospel Wednesday: False Teachers

I've decided to go a different direction this Wednesday and post about false teachers. This is from my notes which I took during Bible study this past Sunday, Stephen Wiggins preaching the lesson. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. I John 4:1 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/1jn.4.1.NKJV Don't believe everything we hear. Test all religious doctrines by God's Word the Bible. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. I John 4:13 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/1jn.4.13.NKJV He has given of His Spirit. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Acts 17:11 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/act.17.11.NKJV Be like the noble Bereans. Search the Scriptures daily to see w

Sacred Truth Friday: Victory in Jesus

Today's Devo But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:57 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/1co.15.57.NKJV Victory through Jesus. We can always win through Him. Victory in Jesus I heard an old, old story, How a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins And won the victory. Chorus O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever. He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood. I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing. How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see; And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit," And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory. Gospel Wednesday: Ephesians Chapter 3: Boldness

Ephesians Chapter 3 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power. To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hid

Sacred Truth Friday: Christians Sharpen One Another

Today's Devo As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/pro.27.17.NKJV Christians sharpen one another in the following ways: 1. Confession to and prayer for one another. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 1. James 5:16 NKJV 1. https://bible.com/bible/114/jas.5.16.NKJV 2. Singing and studying with the brethren. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 2. Colossians 3:16 NKJV 2. https://bible.com/bible/114/col.3.16.NKJV 3. Humility. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests

Gospel Wednesday: Ephesians Chapter 2: Jesus the Cornerstone

Image
Ephesians Chapter 2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship,

Sacred Truth Friday: Forgive

Today's Devo “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25‭-‬26 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/mrk.11.25-26.NKJV Forgive and we'll be forgiven. If we hold a grudge, however, and don't forgive, then neither will God forgive us. And that's pretty serious. With unforgiven sin, we won't make it to heaven. Think on this. If you have not obeyed the Gospel then please obey today before it's everlasting too late. The Gospel in a nutshell Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
