Gospel Wednesday: 1 Timothy Chapter 3: Mystery of Godliness

Image
1 Timothy Chapter 3 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work.A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach;not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence(for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?);not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. What Does The Scripture Say The Pentacostal Church Matthew 16:18 New King James Version (NKJV) 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, andthe gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. Today we are going to examine the Pentacostal church. This church started in 1900 at Bethel Bible College in Topeka, Kansas. There was a 21 day fast as people called for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. No one turned to their Bibles for answers. They wanted more of God and felt there prayer was answered on New Year's Eve 1900. 300 preachers from 20 different founded this church. The headquarters are in Springfield, Missouri. And the heads are Executive Presberty, General Presberty, and General Council who decides on matters concerning the truth. Their authority is the Bible and revelations at the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But what does the Bible say about all this? Firstly the Lord's church began in the first century in Jerus

Sacred Truth Friday: Be Like the Noble Bereans

Sacred Truth Friday Acts 17:11 New King James Version (NKJV) 11 These were more [a]fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find outwhether these things were so. Be like the noble Bereans. Search the Scriptures daily. 2 Timothy 2:15 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Be like the noble Bereans. Study His Word daily. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 New King James Version (NKJV) 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 1 John 4:1 New King James Version (NKJV) Love for God and One Another 4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Be like the noble Bereans. Test all religious doctrines by His Word. If you have not obeyed the Gospel then please obey today before it

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Timothy 2: Joy in Heaven

Image
1 Timothy 2 New King James Version (NKJV) Pray for All Men 2 Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, andgiving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence. 3 For this isgood and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth [d]in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Men and Women in the Church 8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 9 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and [e]moderation, not wit

What Does the Scripture Say: The Episcopal Church

What Does the Scripture Say? The Episcopal Church 1 Corinthians 12:20 New King James Version (NKJV) 20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. Today we are going to examine the Episcopal church and see immediatly that it is not the church of the Bible. This church was started in 1532.  Yet the Lord's church was started in the first century on the day of Pentacost (Acts 2). Sacred Truth Friday: Don't Turn Away

Sacred Truth Friday 1 Kings 11:10 New King James Version (NKJV) 10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not keep what the Lord had commanded. We can see from this verse that King Solomon turned away from God and did not keep HIs commandments. Ezekiel 18:24 New King James Version (NKJV) 24 “But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die. If we turn from away from our righteousness and commit iniquity then none of our righteous acts will be remembered by God and will be condemned to hell unless we repent and turn back to God. Just let this serve as a warning: don't turn away.  Dire consequences will follow if we do so. If y

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Timothy 1: The Apostle Paul

Greeting 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, 2 To Timothy, a true son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. No Other Doctrine 3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may [a]charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 4 nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith. 5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from [b]sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. 8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the un

Sacred Truth Friday: Service

Sacred Truth Friday Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26‭-‬28 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.20.26-28.NKJV As New Testament Christians we are to follow Christ's example and serve others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:5‭-‬8 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/php.2.5-8.NKJV Christ was humble. He served others and obeyed God to the point of death upon the cross. T

Gospel Wednesday: 2 Thessalonians Chapter 3: Laziness

2 Thessalonians Chapter 3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. 5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. Warning Against Idleness 6 But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which [a]he received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; 8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread [b]free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, 9 not because we do not
