Sacred Truth Friday: Spiritual Blessings In Christ

Today's Devo

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Ephesians 1:3 NKJV

Spiritual blessings only in Christ. And only way to get in Christ is obedience to the Gospel.

The Gospel in a nutshell

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:1‭-‬4 KJV

Poet's Corner Thursday: Our Only Sure Foundation

Our Only Sure Foundation

Jesus is our only sure foundation
For salvation and eternal life
His death has given us liberation

No other foundation can we lay
Than Jesus's supreme sacrifice
For our sins, only He could pay

This foundation is strong and sure
Through His name many come to God
His blood the only cure

This foundation will forever stand
Redemption through His name alone
Salvation through Him, God long ago planned

Any other foundation will crumble and fall
Built your faith upon Him only
And listen to His loving call

This foundation will never wear down and rust
So turn to Him
And give Him your complete trust

Gospel Wednesday: 2 Corinthians Chapter 2: Implore

2 Corinthians Chapter 2

But I determined this within myself, that I would not come again to you in sorrow. For if I make you sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad but the one who is made sorrowful by me? And I wrote this very thing to you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all. For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you. But if anyone has caused grief, he has not grieved me, but all of you to some extent—not to be too severe. This punishment which was inflicted by the majority is sufficient for such a man, so that, on the contrary, you ought rather to forgive and comfort him , lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love to him. For to this end I also wrote, that I might put y…

Sacred Truth Friday: Abound In Hope

Today's Devo

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13 NKJV

Abound in hope always.  Joy in the resurrection, forgiveness of sins, heaven.

Poet's Corner Thursday: And His Love Is Lifting Me

And His Love Is Lifting Me

He's a shelter in the storm

An anchor when I'm weak and worn

From fear, He brings me sweet release

With His everlasting peace

And His love is lifting me

Grace flows from Calvary

He's an oasis in the barren land

Lending me a helping hand

He's the everlasting Rock

To His promises I flock

He's the Power and the Shield

It's to His grace I yield

His foundation is firm and sure

The everlasting cure

When tears are on my face

I find His warm embrace

When doubts try to bring me low

It's to His Word I go

When anxiety invades my heart

He sweetly promises to never depart

And to me He graciously calls

Into His almighty arms I fall

He's the pavilion of rest

And by His care I am blest

He's lifts me to new heights

He's the constant, guiding light

Gospel Wednesday: 2 Corinthians Chapter 1: Yes in Christ

2 Corinthians Chapter 1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation. For we do not want you to be ig…

Sacred Truth Friday: Don't Forget His Blessings

Today's Devo

Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren,

Deuteronomy 4:9 NKJV

Don't forget His blessings. What He has done for me.

Poet's Corner Thursday: Here He Comes

Here He Comes

Here He comes with power from on high

His majesty from sea to shining sea

Altogether Holy and beautiful is he

Bringing hope that transfigures you and me

Here He comes with wisdom divine from the start

His knowledge, through His Word, to us to impart

His commandments are just and pure

Making our pathways stable and sure

Here He comes with strength for the weak and weary soul

His great, almighty might untold

He supplies all we need

On His providence we all feed

Here He comes with grace for all who sin

Willing to pardon, willing to let us in

Submit to His redemption plan

On the Gospel forever stand

Here He comes with love to bestow

Giving us comfort as we onward go

His grace and mercy reaching far and wide

Leading us to the heavenly tide

Gospel Wednesday: I Corinthians Chapter 16: Freedom

1 Corinthians Chapter 16

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem. But if it is fitting that I go also, they will go with me. Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia). And it may be that I will remain, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits. But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there  are many adversaries. And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.  The…

Sacred Truth Friday: Set My Mind On Things Above

Today's Devo

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Colossians 3:2 NKJV

Set my mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Think of His sacrifice. His love for me. His blessings being poured out day by day.

Poet's Corner Thursday: God Above Is Always With You

God Above Is Always With You

When your days are filled with laughter
You enjoy good times everyday
You feel you’ll be happy ever after
And enjoy life’s pleasurable ways
Rejoice in this, God above is always with you

When your days are filled with crying
The dreary night is long
The hard times, to your soul, are trying
And everything goes wrong
Peace, be still, God above is always with you

When your children are making good choices
Your mommy heart is proud
Your spirit rejoices
You cheer for them bright and loud
Rejoice in this, God above is always with you

When your children are straying, filling you with fear
Your Mommy heart breaks over the trouble they’re in
You pray every night for them with tears
Your spirit in sorrow over their sin
Peace, be still, God above is always with you

When your health is good
You’re filled with vibrant life
Your body working as it should
You’ve never known a surgeons’ knife
Rejoice in this, God above is always with you

When you receive that devastating …

Gospel Wednesday: I Corinthians Chapter 15: He Died for Our Sins

1 Corinthians Chapter 15

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I la…

Sacred Truth Friday: God Can Use It For Good

Today's Devo

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Genesis 50:20 NKJV

Hard times, even the evil that people do, can be used for God's good. Just keep trusting God. His good overcomes evil.
