Keep Zeal Alive: Experiencing Betrayal and Rejection

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.Many are they who say of me, “ There is no help for him in God.” SelahBut You, O Lord, are  a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. SelahI lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah - Psalm 3:1-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm3:1-8&version=NKJV We can turn to God in hard times. When betrayed and hurt by others we can turn to God. Sacred Truth Friday: Worship

Image
Sermon: Worship And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. - Matthew 2:11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew2:11&version=NKJV Jesus is worthy of worship. When John tried to worship an angel, the angel told him no, telling to worship God (Revelation 22:8-9).  Avenues of Worship 1. Prayer I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; - 1 Timothy 2:8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy2:8&version=NKJV 2. Standing On the Edge of Eternity  Lessons 11 and 12 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. - Philippians 3:20-21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians3:20-21&version=NKJV Ultimately our citizenship is in heaven, not this temporary world. In heaven are many mansions (John 14:3-4). Jesus is at God's right hand in heaven (Acts 7:56). Our hope is laid up in heaven (Colossians 1:5) and we have an inheritance that does not fade away (1 Peter 1:4).  God, angels, elders, living creatures are in heaven (Matthew 6:9, Matthew 18:10, Revelation chapter 4).  Persecution brings great reward: heaven if we don't buckle under the pressure (Matthew 5:11-12). Serving God will reward us greatly (Hebrews 10:35-36). So don't cast away

Gospel Wednesday: Acts Chapter 3

Image
Acts Chapter 3 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.And all the people saw him walking and praising God.Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they we

13  Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow  [ h ] we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;  14  whereas you do not know what  will happen  tomorrow. For what  is  your life?  It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.  15  Instead you  ought  to say,  “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”  16  But now you boast in your arrogance.  All such boasting is evil. 17  Therefore,  to him who knows to do good and does not do  it,  to him it is sin. Coronavirus is here. For us, this is a time of uncertainty. In the midst of all this, let's be reminded of this fact: tomorrow is not guaranteed. Ultimately we must trust God no matter come what may. Trust Him with all our all. Don't lean on our own understanding but in times of distress lean upon God (Proverbs 3:3-5). Remember God knows our needs and will provide.  Just keep seeking His kingdom above all (Matthew 6:31-34). Keep our eye

Sacred Truth Friday: Obey Him; Lessons from Numbers 21

Image
Morning Sermon  Obey Him Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,“Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners. And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined, and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.” - Numbers 15:37-41 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers15:37-41&version=NKJV He is my God. Obey Him. No idolatry! Sanctify Him in my heart (1 Peter 3:15). Obey Him. This is my all (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Don't be a show off (Matthew 23:5). Instead obey His will. Don't just merely acknowledge Him (Matthew 7:21). Jesus is the a

Acts Chapter 2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoi

Keep Zeal Alive: Restoring a Banished Son

Restoring a Banished Son So Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king’s heart was concerned about Absalom. And Joab sent to Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman, and said to her, “Please pretend to be a mourner, and put on mourning apparel; do not anoint yourself with oil, but act like a woman who has been mourning a long time for the dead.Go to the king and speak to him in this manner.” So Joab put the words in her mouth. And when the woman of Tekoa spoke to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and prostrated herself, and said, “Help, O king!”Then the king said to her, “What troubles you?” And she answered, “Indeed I am a widow, my husband is dead. Now your maidservant had two sons; and the two fought with each other in the field, and there was no one to part them, but the one struck the other and killed him.And now the whole family has risen up against your maidservant, and they said, ‘Deliver him who struck his brother, that we may execute him for the life of his b

Sacred Truth Friday: Faithful Congregation; Bodily Resurrection

Morning Sermon  Faithful Congregation  A faithful congregation does the following: 1. Has a Biblical view of the church  And I also say to you that  you are Peter, and  on this rock I will build My church, and  the gates of Hades shall not  prevail against it. - Matthew 16:18 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew16:18&version=NKJV They understand that Jesus built one church not many. They understand that the church is the body, bride of Christ, household of God (Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 6:22-33, 1 Timothy 3:15). 2. Appreciates the elders Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. - 1 Timothy 5:17 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy5:17&version=NKJV 3. Image
Standing On the Edge of Eternity Lesson 10 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? - Hebrews 1:14 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews1:14&version=NKJV Angels are real. Don't doubt it. They are ministering spirits and minister to us. They are described as sons of God in Job 1:6. God created angels (Colossians 1:16) to minister to believers (Hebrews 1:14), to do His word (Psalm 103:20), praise God (Psalm 148:2-5).  An angel intervened and set Peter free from prison (Acts 12:1-9). Jesus aids us, not angels (Hebrews 2:14-18). According to Daniel chapter 10, Micheal is a chief prince. The angel Gabriel announced the births of John and Jesus (Luke chapter 1). And if we are faithful believers we'll spend eternity in heaven with the holy angels of God.

Gospel Wednesday: Acts Chapter 1

Image
Acts Chapter 1 Today we begin our study in the book of Acts where we'll highlight the history of the church and cases of conversion.  The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. - Acts 1:1-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts1:1-3&version=NKJV The Gospel is trustworthy. Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and arose the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).  And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,”  He said,  “you have  heard from Me;for John truly baptized with water,  but you shall be baptized with the

Sacred Truth Friday: Brother's Keeper; Faithful

Image
Morning Sermon Brother's Keeper Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” - Genesis 4:9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis4:9&version=NKJV Cain asked the question "Am I my brother's keeper?" Yes. As brothers and sisters in Christ we all need each other (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12). Let's make it our responsibility to restore the fallen and bear each other's burdens (Galatians 6:1-2). And do good to them (Galatians 6:10).  1. Love one another A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:34-35 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John13:34-35&version=NKJV 2. Standing On the Edge of Eternity  Lesson 9 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was  pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. -

Jude Chapter 1 Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ:Mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. - Jude 1:1-4 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jude1:1-4&version=NKJV Contend for the faith and resist all and any false teachers.  But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, bu
