Sacred Truth Friday: Worship

Sermon:
Worship

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. - Matthew 2:11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew2:11&version=NKJV
Jesus is worthy of worship. When John tried to worship an angel, the angel told him no, telling to worship God (Revelation 22:8-9).

Avenues of Worship

1. Prayer
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; - 1 Timothy 2:8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy2:8&version=NKJV

2. Singing
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. - Colossians 3:16 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians3:16&version=NKJV

3. Giving
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also:On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. - 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians16:1-2&version=NKJV

4. Lord's Supper
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is  broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes. - 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians11:23-26&version=NKJV

5. Preaching
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. - 1 Timothy 4:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:13&version=NKJV

This is all done every Lord's Day, Sunday (Acts 2:42, 20:7). This is a privilege.

A wonderful sermon from Stephen Wiggins.

Author's Note: because of the virus, we have reduced our church services to 10:30 am worship only.
