Sacred Truth Friday: Time

Today's devotional is about time. Psalm 102:13,25-27
You will arise and have pity on Zion;
it is the time to favor her;
the appointed time has come. Of old you laid the foundation of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
but you are the same, and your years have no end. Time is not our enemy, even though it seems like it is when there is not enough time to complete everything or when waiting for a blessed hope. But God, in his wisdom and mercy, has given us time. Minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, seasons and years. And we should use our time wisely. Bless and encourage others. Spread the Gospel near and far. Comfort the broken-hearted and let our light shine. Never waste the time we've been given. Use it wisely. Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Ephesians 5:15-16

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 3

Mark Chapter 3 A Man with a Withered Hand Again he entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. And they watched Jesus, to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him. A Great Crowd Follows Jesus Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. And he told his disciples t

Sacred Truth Friday: Burdens

2 Chronicles 20:17 Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you." Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah Read a great devotional from 365 Moments of Peace for a Woman's Heart. The Lord will bear our burdens, but only if we let Him. Instead of worrying and wringing our hands when life gets hard, we should pray and give it over to God. Whatever burden we're carrying whether death of a loved one, a family member with cancer, an unfaithful child, just hand it over to God and He'll lighten the load. Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” In handing over our burdens to God, we find rest for our souls.

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 2

Mark Chapter 2 Jesus Heals a Paralytic And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take

Sacred Truth Friday: God's Family

Today's Devo Isaiah 1:17
learn to do good;
seek justice,
correct oppression;
bring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow's cause. Galatians 6:10
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. As a child of God, we're privileged to a part of God's family. With love and unity all around. But with this privilege comes responsibility. The responsibility to help our brothers and sisters in Christ when they're in need. So if we see a brother or sister of Christ in need, let's help them in any way we can. And if we are in need, ask for help. Don't let pride stand in the way of asking for help.

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 1

Image
We are now in the book of Mark, and will be in it for the next 16 weeks, as it has 16 chapters. Mark 1 John the Baptist Prepares the Way The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And all the country of Judea and all Jerusalem were going out to him and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel's hair and wore a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, “After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the

Sacred Truth Friday: Be A Blessing

Today's devotional 1 Peter 3:9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 2 Timothy 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. Be a blessing to others. Put their needs before your own. Take time to listen, comfort, help out and care.  Don't repay evil with evil. But with good.

Gospel Wednesday: Matthew Chapter 28

Image
Matthew 28 The Resurrection Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said

Sacred Truth Friday: Give God the Glory

July 1 Devotional from 365 Moments of Peace for a Woman's Heart Proverbs 29:23 One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor. Psalm 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace. When we become more Christlike, displaying all the fruit of the Spirit, that is a very good thing. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. God, daily, works in the lives of His people molding them into the image of His Son. If you notice progress in Your spiritual life, if you recognize yourself bearing spiritual fruit, give God the glory, honor and praise, for He indeed works in our lives and will never give up!
