Sacred Truth Friday: Marriage

Sermon: Marriage  Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the  two shall become one flesh.”This is a great

Walking Worthy Lesson 9  This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ,if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. - Ephesians 4:17-24 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians4:17-24&version=NKJV We are not to be like the world. But to put off our old self and put on our new self instead.

Gospel Wednesday: Acts Chapter 12

Acts Chapter 12 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during  the Days of Unleavened Bread. So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he

Sacred Truth Friday: Forgiveness Part 2

Sermon: Forgiveness Part 2  “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But  if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. - Matthew 6:14-15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew6:14-15&version=NKJV This is a warning for us, New Testament Christians. If we don't forgive others, God will not forgive us. Think of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18:21-35). A king forgave his great debt of a million dollars yet this very servant did not forgive his fellow servant who owed him only a few dollars. When the king found out, he called the unmerciful servant wicked and had him thrown into prison until he could pay back his debt of a million dollars.  God sees us as wicked when we hold grudges, are bitter, and refuse to forgive.  If someone sins against us, we are to rebuke lovingly and then forgive. Always forgive (Luke 17:3-4). We are to get rid of all bitterness and forgive (Ephesia

Acts Chapter 11  Now the apostles and brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him, saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying:“I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.When I observed it intently and considered, I saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven. At that very moment, three men stood before the

Sacred Truth Friday: Forgiveness

Sermon   Forgiveness  Basics of the Bible: 1. God 2. Man 3. Sin 4. Redemption  We all sin and fall short of His glory (Roman's 3:23). Jesus is the solution to the sin problem (Romans 6:23). This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. - 1 John 1:5-10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John1:5-10&version=NKJV God is light. Gospel Wednesday: Acts Chapter 10

Acts Chapter 10  There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always.About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”And when the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually. So when he had explained all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa. - Acts 10:1-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts10:1-8&vers

Sacred Truth Friday: Humility

Sermon: Humility  At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you,  unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 18:1-4 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew18:1-4&version=NKJV The disciples asked Jesus who would be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. He then taught them a lesson on humility saying that unless we become as little children and are converted we will not enter heaven. a child humbly trusts without question and doubting. This is how we are to be. The humble are the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. The humble are justified in God's sight, not the prideful (Luke 18:14). For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”But now you boast in your arrogance. Sacred Truth Friday: How To Be Blessed

How to Be Blessed  Psalm 1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are  like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. - Psalm 1:1-6 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm1:1-6&version=NKJV If we meditate upon God's law and keep it, we will be blessed. However if we turn away and take our part with sinners we will be cursed and utterly destroyed: second death (Revelation 21:8).
