Sacred Truth Friday: Ready to Help

Today's devo Psalm 46:1,5 1 GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. God is with us when we go through difficult times. Ready to help if we'll just call upon Him in faith. If you're going through a hard time right now, whatever the case may be, before you turn to others for advice, turn to God first. Seek His presence, comfort, help and compassion. As you do so, your heart will have peace no matter your circumstances.

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 12

Mark chapter 12 The Parable of the Vineyard  1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. 2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. 4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. 5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. 8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him o

Sacred Truth Friday: No Idols

Today's devo Psalm 135,5,15-16,18,19-21
5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. 16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; 18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them. 19 Bless the LORD , O house of Israel: bless the LORD , O house of Aaron: 20 Bless the LORD , O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD , bless the LORD . 21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD . Anything in our lives can become an idol. Food, relationships, hobbies. Anything.  When we look to people or things to fulfill our needs, instead of God we are in the wrong. And need to turn away from those idols, turn to God, seek His forgiveness, seek Him instead of idols. Trust Him to meet our needs. Not idols. There is only one God. Lord of Heaven and Earth. He is the One we should seek, and only He

Mark Chapter 11 Jesus Enters Jerusalem  1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples, 2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. 4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him. 5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt? 6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. 9 And they that

Sacred Truth Friday: Be Still

Today's devo Psalm 46:8,10 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD , what desolations he hath made in the earth. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. When we feel burdened, discouraged, disheartened, great sorrow, the best thing to do is be still before God and surrender our burdens to Him. Let Him ease our pain and comfort us. The result of being still before Him will be peace, having our hearts comforted, and great hope, no matter what we're going through. So if you're going through hard times, take heart. Be still before Him and surrender all.

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 10

Mark Chapter 10 Marriage and Divorce  1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. 2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. 3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. 11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall

Sacred Truth Friday: Imitate Him

Today's reading Psalm 71:7 7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. 21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. Sometimes we get caught up in the world and start to imitate it. Picking up habits, whether good or bad, from our coworkers, friends, and family. But the person we should imitate is God. We should live in step with His truth every day and not live as the world does. If we have been living as the world, let us ask His forgiveness and ask to Him to help us imitate Him. Look up to Him. Live by His truth. Romans 12:2 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Gospel Wednesday: Mark Chapter 9

Mark Chapter 9 Jesus' Transfiguration  1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. 2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. 4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. 5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 6 For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. 7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man
