A Name I Highly Treasure In The Garden Take Time to Be Holy

Sacred Truth Friday: Bear the Weaknesses of Others

Today's Devo Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long. Psalms 35:26‭-‬28 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.35.26-28.KJV We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:1‭-‬4 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/r

Poet's Corner Thursday: Power of Love

Power of Love  Left His heavenly domain Knowing He would receive no sympathy And go through all the agony and pain He had a heart of humility That's the power of love He endured ridicule and shame Did not even retaliate For our sins took all the blame Forgave those who were full of hate That's the power of love Hung upon the cross Watch His lifeblood drain away To save us from endless loss For vile sinners He prayed That's the power of love "Father, forgive them They know what they do". Now we're let in He makes us all new That's the power of love Took His last breath He did it all for you and me Died a cruel death Upon that bitter tree That's the power of love The third day He arose from the grave Ascended back to Heaven where He's now King It's us He wants to save To Him angels now sing That's the power of love Sits on God's right hand For us He's interceding Obey His Gospel command And f

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Corinthians Chapter 5: New Life

Image
1 Corinthians Chapter 5 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven,

Sacred Truth Friday: True Religion

Today's Devo O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord , ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord . What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Psalms 34:8‭-‬14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.34.8-14.KJV Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Corinthians Chapter 4: Power to Save

Image
1 Corinthians Chapter 4 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost

Sacred Truth Friday: Obeying Him

Today's Devo See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15‭-‬17 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/eph.5.15-17.KJV Obeying God is the best form of praise I can offer. Which I don't always do. Pray I obey Him more. https://www.ephesuschurchofchrist.org/resources/devotionals/2018/03/16/daily-devotional-psalms-331-5

Poet's Corner Thursday: Woe Is Unto Me

Woe Is Unto Me  Woe is unto me if I proclaim not His name If, of Him, I am ashamed Woe is unto me if I share not His Word If the Gospel, from me, is unheard Woe is unto me if I don't value souls If His truth I don't sow Woe is unto me if Him, I don't obey If any sin, to me, is ever okay Woe is unto me if my cross I don't bear If I'm caught in Satan's snare Woe is unto me if I'm ever lukewarm If of spiritual danger, I don't warn Woe is unto me if from Him I turn away How then will I be ready for that great day? Woe is unto me if I ever fall from grace Don't endure this faith race Woe is unto me if Him I don't serve Don't give Him the love He deserves Don't let it be woe is unto me So share the Gospel as often as I can And through faithfulness reach that Promised Land

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Corinthians Chapter 3: No Other Foundation

Image
1 Corinthians Chapter 3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God whic

Sacred Truth Friday: Faith Obeys

Today's Devo What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for rig

Gospel Wednesday: 1 Corinthians Chapter 2: Examine the Scriptures

Image
1 Corinthians Chapter 2 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"— these things G
