Sacred Truth Friday: Encouraged and Encourage; My Role

Image
Morning Sermon Encouraged and Encourage And with many other exhortations he preached to the people. - Luke 3:18 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke3:18&version=NKJV Preach to and encourage people. Be benevolent (3:11). Don't take advantage of others (3:13). Treat others fairly, don't slander anyone, and be content. Live as God: holy (Ephesians 5:1).  This passage in Luke 3 encourages me to do the above. So encourage others to do the same.  Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. - 1 Timothy 4:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:13&version=NKJV Encourage others. After all, God encourages me (Hebrews 13:22). Paul encouraged the disciples to continue in the faith (Acts 14:22).  Encourage the elders (1 Peter 5:1). Encourage the preacher.  Lesson: Encourage others as I have been encouraged.  Afternoon Sermon My Role that they admonish the young women to love their husbands,

Standing on the Edge of Eternity Lesson 4 And you He made alive,  who were dead in trespasses and sins,in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His

1 John Chapter 3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. - 1 John 3:1-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John3:1-3&version=NKJV We are children of God and He loves us. When we see Jesus, we shall be like Him. With this hope, let's purify ourselves daily.  Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as

Sacred Truth Friday: Lord's Day; Lack of Knowledge

Image
Morning Sermon  Lord's Day I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, - Revelation 1:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation1:10&version=NKJV John was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day. Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday, the first day of the week, the Lord's Day (Luke 24:1-12). He appeared to the disciples on the same day (John 20:19-29). The church became an existing reality on the Lord's Day (Acts 2:1-47).  Paul met with the brethren on the Lord's Day (Acts 20:7). A collection is to be taken up on the Lord's Day (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).  Lesson: from these few passages we can see the importance of the Lord's Day. Let's not forsake it, but assemble with the brethren in the Lord's church each and every Lord's Day. Afternoon Sermon My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest f

Standing on the Edge of Eternity  Lesson 3 “Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue. And do You open Your eyes on such a one, And bring me to judgment with Yourself?Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.Look away from him that he may rest, Till like a hired man he finishes his day.“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground,Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant. But man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last And where is  he?As water disappears from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dries up,So man lies down and does not rise. 1 John Chapter 2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. - 1 John 2:1-2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John2:1-2&version=NKJV Jesus is our Advocate before God the Father. But that doesn't mean we should sin at every opportunity but strive to live holy lives each and every day. Jesus is the propitiation for all sins.  Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you hav

Sacred Truth Friday: God's Divine Direction; Fruit of the Spirit

Morning Sermon God's Divine Direction O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. - Jeremiah 10:23 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah10:23&version=NKJV Let God direct my life. Hear what is being said from His Word (Revelation 2:7). Walk in the Spirit; live in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16,25). Remember Adam and Eve (Genesis Chapter 3), Cain (chapter 4), Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:1-2), and Uzza and David as disaster that follows when God is not obeyed.  The Gospel must be obeyed, worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24), and live the Christian life.  Lesson: follow God's divine direction to the T.  Afternoon Sermon Fruit of the Spirit But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. - Hebrews 2:14-15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews2:14-15&version=NKJV Jesus conquered death. This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. Sacred Truth Friday: Don't Be Deceived; Paul

Morning Sermon  Don't Be Deceived  Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians6:9-11&version=NKJV Sin condemns. All sin, every sin. No such thing as small sin. All sin large, a crime against God. I'm washed, sanctified, justified. Fear God, walk in righteousness (Acts 10:35), be blameless before Him (Luke 1:6).  Respect marriage, put God above all, guard against adultery. Bisexual, pansexual, homosexual all sins. Respect the property and possessions of others.  Be satisfied, not greedy, stay away

2 Peter Chapter 3 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder),that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand ye

Morning Sermon Truth but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. - 1 Timothy 3:15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy3:15&version=NKJV Behave myself in God's house. It's the pillar and ground of the truth. Do good to all, especially the brethren (Galatians 6:10). This is my spiritual family (Ephesians 3:15). Baptized into one body (1 Corinthians 12:13). Christ loves the church and gave Himself for the church (Ephesians 5:25).  Truth 1. Live it I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. - 3 John 1:4 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=3John1:4&version=NKJV Live a blameless life (Luke 1:6). Don't walk as an enemy of the cross of Christ (Philippians 3:18).  2. Proclaim it but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

In Depth Bible Study: Qualities of Love

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. - 1 Corinthians 13:8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians13:8&version=NKJV Love never fails. Agape love loves all, even those the world deems unloveable. After all, Hod loved us when we were unlovable. Christ died for us (Romans 5:6,10). We are to love even our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48). Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. - Galatians 5:19-21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians5:19-21&version=NKJV Look at these works

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. - 2 Peter 2:1-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Peter2:1-3&version=NKJV Beware of false teachers. For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an e
