Sacred Truth Friday: Don't Be Deceived; Paul

Morning Sermon
Don't Be Deceived

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. - 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians6:9-11&version=NKJV
Sin condemns. All sin, every sin. No such thing as small sin. All sin large, a crime against God. I'm washed, sanctified, justified. Fear God, walk in righteousness (Acts 10:35), be blameless before Him (Luke 1:6).  Respect marriage, put God above all, guard against adultery. Bisexual, pansexual, homosexual all sins. Respect the property and possessions of others.
Be satisfied, not greedy, stay away from drugs, don't slander or swindle others.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. - Galatians 6:7-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians6:7-8&version=NKJV
Don't be deceived. I reap what I sow. So make sure I'm living right.

Afternoon Sermon
Paul

Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ— who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. - 2 Corinthians 10:1 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Corinthians10:1&version=NKJV
Paul bold in letters, but humble in person. Accused of being weak (2 Corinthians 10:10). Paul went on to list his credentials as an apostle of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:21-22), and his hard times (11:23‐33).
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. - 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Corinthians11:13-15&version=NKJV
The false teachers were the ones accusing Paul of being weak. And also they took advantage of others (2 Corinthians 11:16-20).

Lesson: Paul to be admired. Look at all he endured for the Gospel: shipwrecks, beatings, lashings, life in constant danger from people and nature, hunger, tiredness, weariness. Yet he still trusted God. When adverse times come trust God and lean upon Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Two wonderful sermons from Stephen Wiggins.
