In Depth Bible Study: Standing on the Edge of Eternity Lesson 4

Standing on the Edge of Eternity Lesson 4

And you He made alive,  who were dead in trespasses and sins,in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:1-10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians2:1-10&version=NKJV
We must remember God saved us by His grace through Jesus. Remember this and perform good works for Him.
Jesus who died for us, is both Lord and Christ. And the first step for any of us, if we haven't done so already, is obedience to the Gospel (Acts 2:21-38).

We must then let His Word guide our lives (Psalm 119:105) and remain faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10).

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, - Hebrews 3:12-14 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews3:12-14&version=NKJV
This journey and goal of heaven is not easy. Therefore we need faith and the encouragement of other believers. We need unity and love among the brethren (Acts 2:42-46).
And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. - Acts 9:26 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts9:26&version=NKJV
We should welcome any and all new believers. Don't form cliques or ostracize.
We are all saints in Christ (Philippians 1:1). So let's pray for each other (James 5:16), restore the fallen, and bear each others burdens (Galatians 6:1-2).

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. - 2 Timothy 4:6-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Timothy4:6-8&version=NKJV
This is a lifelong goal, so let's fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith. And we will receive a crown of righteousness. Let's not draw back or give up, but endure to the end (Hebrews 10:32-39).
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. - Hebrews 12:1-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews12:1-3&version=NKJV
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses so let's look to Jesus and cast aside every weight and sin and run this race with endurance. Let's have laser like focus in our goal of heaven and don't let anything distract us (2 Timothy 2:1-10).

My reason for this goal: I want to see God's face.
