Sacred Truth Friday: Rest and Strength in God

Isaiah 40:28-31

Have you not known? Have you not heard
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 119:114

You are my hiding place and my shield;
I hope in your word.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

According to these verses God is our hiding place and shield. He never grows weary or tired.  He supplies us with strength. Jesus even invites us to rest in Him when we are heavy laden.

When we feel stressed to the max, down, discouraged, depressed or anxious let's run to God, our strength and shield. He'll comfort our hearts, and supply us with much needed strength.
