Sacred Truth Friday: His faithfulness/devotion

Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides. (Psalms 119:90 NKJV)

Read Psalm 119: 73-96. Part of the Psalm 119 eight week study from Love God Greatly.

Anyway Psalm 119:90 stands out on God's faithfulness. Other verses in the Bible mention His faithfulness.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (II Timothy 2:13 NKJV)

“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; (Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV)

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. (II Thessalonians 3:3 NKJV)

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (I Corinthians 1:9 NKJV)

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)

But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. (Psalms 86:15 NKJV)

Longsuffering means patience, faithful.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:23 NKJV)

These verses mention God's faithfulness. He is faithful, devoted to us even when we are faithless. 2 Timothy 2:13.

But shouldn't God's faithfulness/devotion toward us make us want to be faithful and devoted to Him in return? Yes, it should. If someone is faithful, we should be faithful in return. We should be seeking out God daily, drawing close to Him. And stay ever faithful/devoted to Him just like He is faithful/devoted to us.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV)

Jeremiah 29:13 says if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him.

Oh let's forever remain faithful to this God  who loves us so much, is devoted to us, and forever faithful.

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10 NKJV)
