Sacred Truth Friday: Judgment

                                                     Sermon: Judgment

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. - Revelation 20:11-15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation20:11-15&version=NKJV
We will all face judgment one day. It truly matters how we live. If we obey the Gospel and are faithful to God, heaven will be our reward. However if we don't obey the Gospel and/or are not faithful to God hell will be our punishment.

Order of events

1. Jesus will return (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
2. The dead will rise (John 5:28-29)
3.  The judgment (Matthew 25:31-46)
4. Christ will hand over the kingdom to God (1 Corinthians 15:24)
5. World destroyed

6 Points Concerning the Judgement

1. Absolutely certain (Hebrews 9:27)
2. Christ will be the judge (2 Corinthians 5:10)
3. Standard: His word (John 12:48)
4  Universal no absentees (Matthew 25:31-32)
5. Judged individually we can't answer for anyone and no one can answer for us (Romans 14:12)
6.  Sentencing heaven or hell (Matthew 25:46)

Prepare now by obeying the Gospel and being faithful to God.
