Sacred Truth Friday: Treasured Possession

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.”
Deuteronomy 14:2 ESV

Saw this verse today when I read my Bible.

Other verses speak of the same thing.

““For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.”
Deuteronomy 7:6 ESV

“And the Lord has declared today that you are a people for his treasured possession, as he has promised you, and that you are to keep all his commandments,”
Deuteronomy 26:18 ESV

““They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.”
Malachi 3:17 ESV

“who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”
Titus 2:14 ESV

These verses are saying that God treasures us. Cherishes us. He loves us.

And we should do the same in return: love and cherish Him, not idols.

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:14-19 ESV

We should dwell on how much He loves us, not focus on our circumstances, no matter what is going on around us. Rejoice in and dwell on His love. His love can't be measured.

Love and cherish Him in return. Obey and serve Him all days of your  life.

If you don't have a personal relationship with God, don't know of His wonderful love in a personal way, then obey the Gospel today.

Read the posts titled Gospel Wednesday so you'll know how to obey the Gospel.
