Sacred Truth Friday: Immanuel, God With Us

“But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).”
Matthew 1:20-23 ESV

Look at what these verses say. That not only would Jesus save us from our sins, but He's also Immanuel, God With Us. How exciting!!!!

Did a search on the name Immanuel within my Bible app. And came up with the four verses you see in the above picture.

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14 ESV

““Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).”
Matthew 1:23 ESV

“And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.’””
Isaiah 7:9 ESV

“and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.””
Isaiah 8:8 ESV

The name Immanuel mentioned in three verses (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23 and Isaiah 8:8).

A great lesson from this passage. Jesus is God in the flesh. Who came down to earth to die for us. To set us free from our sins. In the days of His earthly life, He (Jesus) was Immanuel, God with us.

And, today He is still Immanuel, God with us. Sitting on the right hand of the Father and is interceding for us.

“Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
Romans 8:34 ESV

Oh, beloved readers, place your faith in Jesus and obey the Gospel if you haven't done so already.
