 What Must I Do To Be Saved?

This is the true gospel as revealed in the holy scriptures, which answers the question: What Must I Do To Be Saved?


1. Hear We must hear of this wonderful news of the Gospel. 

So faith comes through hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 ESV

2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the dead

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

3. Repent of your past sins

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. Acts 17:30 ESV 

4. Confess Jesus as the Son of God and Lord and Savior

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:9-10 ESV

5. Be baptized for the remission of your sins

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:38 ESV

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 3:21 ESV

6. Remain faithful
Be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life.
Revelation 2:10 ESV
