Sacred Truth Friday: Take Heed; Peacemakers

Morning Sermon
Take Heed

Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. - 1 Timothy 4:16 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:16&version=NKJV
Take heed to the doctrine and myself. Continue in it. I will save myself and those who hear me. My blog, Facebook group: Ladies Bible Study, one-on-one Bible Studies with potential converts, letters to lost souls: make sure I preach God's truth and God's truth only. Denominational doctrines are not allowed. Realize I face the stricter judgment (James 3:1).

And it's all on me to grow spiritually (Ephesians 4:15, Hebrews 5:12-6:3). Hold to His doctrine with incorruptibility (Titus 2:8).
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. - 2 John 1:9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2John1:9&version=NKJV
I must abide in His doctrine, or risk my own soul and the souls of those around me to eternal condemnation.

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” - Matthew 1:20-21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew1:20-21&version=NKJV
Remember it's all about Jesus. He saves us from our sins.
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. - 1 Timothy 4:12 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:12&version=NKJV
And be a good example.

Lesson: take heed to what I teach and how I live.

Afternoon Sermon
Peacemakers

Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance  is  Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Romans 12:17-21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans12:17-21&version=NKJV
No revenge. Do good. Live at peace with all. Vengeance is God's and God's alone. Do good to those who hurt me. Overcome evil with good. I'm blessed if I'm a peacemaker.

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. - 1 Peter 3:9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Peter3:9&version=NKJV
Bless those who hurt me.
See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. - 1 Thessalonians 5:15 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Thessalonians5:15&version=NKJV
Pursue what is good for all.
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: - Hebrews 12:14 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews12:14&version=NKJV
Pursue peace for all.

“You have heard that it was said,  ‘You shall love your neighbor  and hate your enemy.’But I say to you,  love your enemies, bless those who curse you,  do good to those who hate you, and pray  for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for  He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your  brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the  tax collectors do so?Therefore you shall be perfect, just  as your Father in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:43-48 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew5:43-48&version=NKJV
Love my enemies. Do good to them. I'm no better than unbelievers if I don't follow these divine precepts. And there is no heaven if I'm vengeful and unforgiving (Matthew 6:14-15).

Lesson: be a peacemaker with a tender heart that always forgives.

Two wonderful sermons from Stephen Wiggins.
