Sacred Truth Friday: Originated With God; Marriage

Morning Sermon
Originated With God

These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of  the Samaritans.“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves.  Therefore be wise as serpents and  harmless  as doves. But beware of men, for  they will deliver you up to councils and  scourge you in their synagogues. You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For  it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. - Matthew 10:5,16-20 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew10:5,16-20&version=NKJV
Limited commission to the house of Israel that expanded to the Gentiles. Apostles would be persecuted. They would speak by the Spirit.

But  the  Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will  send in My name,  He will teach you all things, and bring to your  remembrance all things that I said to you. - John 14:26 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John14:26&version=NKJV
The Holy Spirit would teach the apostles and bring to their remembrance all that Jesus said.

However, when He,  the Spirit of truth, has come,  He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. - John 16:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John16:13&version=NKJV
The Holy Spirit would guide the apostles.

Lesson: the Gospel does indeed originate with God. It is not the product of man (2 Peter 1:21)

Afternoon Sermon
Marriage

A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 7:39 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians7:39&version=NKJV
A widow can remarry as long as it is in the Lord meaning the person must be a New Testament Christian, part of the Lord's church.

The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?”And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who  made them at the beginning  ‘made them male and female,’and said,  ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and  the two shall become one flesh’?So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?”He said to them, “Moses, because of the  hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your  wives, but from the beginning it was not so.And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for  sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.” - Matthew 19:3-9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew19:3-9&version=NKJV
Marriage is a lifelong commitment and not to be taken lightly. Divorce is prohibited except in the case of marital unfaithfulness.

For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man. - Romans 7:2-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans7:2-3&version=NKJV
Marriage continues as long as both people are alive.

Lesson: marriage is serious. Only 3 classes of people can get married: singles, widows/widowers, and the innocent person in a divorce due to unfaithfulness.
And since marriage is serious, I'll choose my marriage partner wisely. He must be a New Testament Christian and part of the Lord's church. He can't be an unbeliever or from a denomination, which is man made church to begin with. He must be faithful to the Lord, respect and honor his parents, be a hard worker, and no drinking, drugs, or drama.
