Sacred Truth Friday: Love

Love

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians13:13&version=NKJV

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians13:1-3&version=NKJV

Our service to God is worthless without love.

1. Love is the greatest
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians13:13&version=NKJV

2. Faith and hope are important
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. - Hebrews 11:6 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews11:6&version=NKJV

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, - Romans 5:1 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans5:1&version=NKJV

in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, - Titus 1:2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Titus1:2&version=NKJV

For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? - Romans 8:24 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans8:24&version=NKJV

3. Faith and hope will end in sight when Jesus returns, but love will never end.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. - 1 Corinthians 13:8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians13:8&version=NKJV

Pray that we all increase and abound in love.
