Nicodemus


There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you,  unless one is born  again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you,  unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is  flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. - John 3:1-6 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John3:1-6&version=NKJV
Must be born again. Not a physical birth but a spiritual one. Look at the examples of conversion: the eunuch baptized, Cornelius and his household baptized, Paul baptized (Acts 8:36-38, 10:48, 22:16). Like Nicodemus we must be born again and this comes through baptism.

Sacrifice

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. - Romans 12:1-2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans12:1-2&version=NKJV
Sacrificing my life to God means doing His will, not what I want. Be transformed by the renewing of my mind and don't let this world conform me. I'm to grow, mature in the faith. Have genuine love. Shun evil and do good. Be kind and prefer others. Have hope, patience. Pray. See to the needs of others. Bless my enemies. Be sympathetic. Be humble. Do what's honorable in the sight of all. No revenge. Do good to my enemies (Romans 12:17-21).
