What Does the Scripture Say: Once Saved Always Saved

Every Saturday I'll be posting What Does the Scripture Say posts. This is more important than Uplifting Songs Saturday. Lost souls need to hear the truth.

Watched a video on Answering Denominational Doctrines: Once Saved Always Saved via The Gospel of Christ app for Android.  And Biblical truth was spoken on the subject.

Once Saved Always Saved

Watched a video on the above title through the TGOC app for Android.

And the Bible proves once saved, always saved to be a false doctrine.

You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Galatians 5:4 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/gal.5.4.NKJV

We can sin in such a way we lose our salvation.

Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done. Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”

Acts 8:13‭-‬24 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/act.8.13-24.NKJV

Look at the example of Simon. He was saved. But because he tried to use money to purchase miraculous power, he was lost. Lost his salvation.
He asked Peter to pray for him. Why do so if he was still saved?

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

I Corinthians 10:12 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/1co.10.12.NKJV

We should diligently take heed lest we fall.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

II Peter 1:10 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/2pe.1.10.NKJV

Make our calling and election sure so as not to stumble.

“But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.

Ezekiel 18:24 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/ezk.18.24.NKJV

Turn away from our righteousness and we can be sure, unless we repent, we will die in a lost condition.

Ezekiel 18:4 says the soul who sins will die. The wages of sin is death according to Romans 6:23.

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

II Peter 2:20‭-‬22 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/2pe.2.20-22.NKJV

If we become entangled in sin, it would be better for us to not have known the truth and be saved in the first place. Unless we repent, we will die unfaithful to God.

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

I Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/1co.9.27.NKJV

We should discipline ourselves so we don't become disqualified.
but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

Hebrews 6:8 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/heb.6.8.NKJV

If we bear briers and thorns, instead of fruit for God, we will be lost spiritually.

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Revelation 3:5 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/rev.3.5.NKJV

We must overcome or be blotted out of the book of life.
Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

I John 3:9 NKJV
https://bible.com/bible/114/1jn.3.9.NKJV

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

1 John 3:9 ESV
https://bible.com/bible/59/1jn.3.9.ESV

Don't misuse this verse to support once saved always saved. This verse says Christians will not make a practice of sinning and if they do, they lose their salvation.

Even as New Testament Christians we must walk in the light and confess our sins. Don't deny we've sinned (1 John 1:7-10).
But be forewarned. Don't abuse His grace. Making a habit of sin. It'll cost Your soul to do so.

Reject the doctrine of once saved always saved for the lie that it is.
