Sacred Truth Friday: Faithfulness to God

Sacred Truth Friday

Another good lesson from Stephen Wiggins.

Faithfulness to God

His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ - Matthew 25:21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew25:21&version=NKJV

Be a good and faithful servant to Jesus.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus: - Ephesians 1:1 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians1:1&version=NKJV

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. - Colossians 1:2 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Colossians1:2&version=NKJV

Faithful in Christ. Let this describe us all as New Testament Christians.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. - Revelation 2:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation2:10&version=NKJV

Be faithful even when threatened with death.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 10:28,32-33 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew10:28,32-33&version=NKJV

Fear God, not people. Don't deny Jesus under intense persecution.

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, - 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Thessalonians1:8-9&version=NKJV

Not only will those who refuse to obey the Gospel be punished. But if we are unfaithful we will be punished as well.

Faithfulness doesn't mean sinless perfection. We all stumble at times. So we confess, repent, and God forgives (1 John 1:9). And we walk in the light continually (1 John 1:7).

Let's all be faithful to God.

If you have not obeyed the Gospel then please obey today before it's everlasting too late.
