If we don't forgive others, God will not forgive us. Think of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18:21-35). A king forgave his great debt of a million dollars yet this very servant did not forgive his fellow servant who owed him only a few dollars. When the king found out, he called the unmerciful servant wicked and had him thrown into prison until he could pay back his debt of a million dollars. God sees us as wicked when we hold grudges, are bitter, and refuse to forgive. If someone sins against us, we are to rebuke lovingly and then forgive. Always forgive (Luke 17:3-4).
