Standing on the Edge
Of Eternity Lesson 7

Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” - Acts 1:9-11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts1:9-11&version=NKJV
Jesus will return. Be sure of that. And take the faithful to be with Him in heaven forever (John 14:1-3). Death, judgment, His return are all certain facts (Hebrews 9:27-28).

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Thessalonians4:13-18&version=NKJV
We will reunite with our faithful loved ones and be with Jesus upon His return. All will see Him upon His return and the unsaved and the unfaithful will mourn (Revelation 1:7). All the dead will rise upm His return (John 5:28-29). Jesus will judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). We will receive a body fit for where we will reside for eternity whether heaven or hell (1 Corinthians 15:42,52).
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” - 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians15:50-54&version=NKJV
Death will be defeated.
since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you,and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed. - 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Thessalonians1:6-10&version=NKJV
And look at this warning: the unsaved and the unfaithful will be punished. This world will be destroyed at Jesus's return  (2 Peter 3:10-12).

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. - 2 Corinthians 5:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Corinthians5:10&version=NKJV
We will all be judged. And there are no second chances upon His return or our death. So be prepared and stay prepared.
