Sacred Truth Friday: God's Divine Direction; Fruit of the Spirit

Morning Sermon
God's Divine Direction

O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. - Jeremiah 10:23 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah10:23&version=NKJV
Let God direct my life. Hear what is being said from His Word (Revelation 2:7). Walk in the Spirit; live in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16,25). Remember Adam and Eve (Genesis Chapter 3), Cain (chapter 4), Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:1-2), and Uzza and David as disaster that follows when God is not obeyed.
The Gospel must be obeyed, worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24), and live the Christian life.

Lesson: follow God's divine direction to the T.

Afternoon Sermon
Fruit of the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians5:22-23&version=NKJV
Must have fruit of the Spirit in my life. The opposite is works of the flesh which bars me from heaven (5:19-21).

1. Love
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. - John 15:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John15:13&version=NKJV
True love sacrifices. God is love (1 John 4:8). Love the brethren sincerely (1 Peter 1:22).

2. Joy
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! - Philippians 4:4 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians4:4&version=NKJV
Rejoice in God.

3. Peace
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, - Romans 5:1 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans5:1&version=NKJV
Peace with God through Jesus.

4. Long-suffering
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Peter3:9&version=NKJV
God is long-suffering. Be like Him.

5. Kindness
Be kind to all, even enemies.

6. Goodness
Do right, even when no one is looking.

7. Faithfulness
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days.  Be faithful until death, and I will give you  the crown of life. - Revelation 2:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation2:10&version=NKJV
Be faithful unto death.

8. Gentleness
And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, - 2 Timothy 2:24 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2Timothy2:24&version=NKJV
Be gentle to all, not harsh.

9. Self control
Control myself at all times.

Lesson: fruit of the Spirit: recipe for success.
