Sacred Truth Friday: Faithful Congregation; Bodily Resurrection
Morning Sermon
Faithful Congregation
A faithful congregation does the following:
1. Has a Biblical view of the church
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:18 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew16:18&version=NKJV
They understand that Jesus built one church not many. They understand that the church is the body, bride of Christ, household of God (Romans 12:4-8, Ephesians 6:22-33, 1 Timothy 3:15).
2. Appreciates the elders
Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. - 1 Timothy 5:17 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy5:17&version=NKJV
3. Pays attention to preaching
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. - 1 Timothy 4:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy4:13&version=NKJV
4. Is faithful to God
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. - Revelation 2:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation2:10&version=NKJV
5. Is honorable in the sight of all
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. - Romans 12:17 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans12:17&version=NKJV
6. Evangelizes
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. - Mark 16:15-16 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark16:15-16&version=NKJV
7. Is benovelant
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. - Galatians 6:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians6:10&version=NKJV
Let's be encouraged to be a faithful congregation of the Lord's church.

Afternoon Sermon
Bodily Resurrection
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voiceand come forth— those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. - John 5:28-29 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John5:28-29&version=NKJV
The bodily resurrection will occur. Be sure of it. Jesus died, was buried, and arose the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Heaven is our home, and Jesus will transform our bodies into His glorious body after we are resurrected (Philippians 3:20-21). We will have a new, changed body (1 John 3:2). We'll be raised with a spiritual, incorruptible body in honor and power (1 Corinthians 15:42-44).
We will put on incorruptiblity, immortality (1 Corinthians 15:33). Think on this glorious resurrection: faithful believers given new bodies. Death defeated (1 Corinthians 15:50-57).
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 15:58 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians15:58&version=NKJV
So, be steadfast, immovable, abound in the Lord's work.
Two great sermons from Stephen Wiggins.
