Sacred Truth Friday: No Idols

Today's devo

Psalm 135,5,15-16,18,19-21
5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. 16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
19 Bless the LORD , O house of Israel: bless the LORD , O house of Aaron: 20 Bless the LORD , O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD , bless the LORD . 21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD .

Anything in our lives can become an idol. Food, relationships, hobbies. Anything.  When we look to people or things to fulfill our needs, instead of God we are in the wrong. And need to turn away from those idols, turn to God, seek His forgiveness, seek Him instead of idols. Trust Him to meet our needs. Not idols. There is only one God. Lord of Heaven and Earth. He is the One we should seek, and only He can meet our needs and make us whole.
